All About Women's World of Backgammon
Women's World of Backgammon has a clear, attainable mission: to promote women’s participation, place, and preeminence in competitive backgammon.
What do we do?
We make sure women are seen at the tournaments, in the winners’ circle, and in the press.
We provide a circle of support for women who are competing, often in a room where they are under-represented.
We create content - engaging, entertaining, and educational content - to show the exciting worth of the game, the incredible intelligence behind the game, and the fabulous women who play to the world.
We create an environment of fun and enjoyment of the game!
How do we do it?
We create, organize, conduct, and sponsor women’s backgammon championship tournaments and events nationally and internationally - and recognize women for excellence in competitive backgammon.
We encourage and support women players - invite women to connect at the tournaments and encourage them to learn and compete.
We volunteer to play with other women and women’s teams in organized online events which feature women.
We are eager to teach and mentor players who want to start to compete - always helping those coming after us.
We give time, money and support to enrich and enlarge the mission.
We look for financial support from foundations, sponsors, and women.
We create 'partnerships' with like-minded women's groups.
We provide sponsorship support for scholarships and prize money for women to be rewarded for their tournament play.
