Enjoy this match between Anna Price (UK) and Karen Davis (US), played in the quarterfinals of The World Backgammon Internet Federation (WBIF) 2024 Women’s World Championship. The tournament attracted a field of 110 women entrants from around the world. The final eight played ten rounds of 13-point matches to reach the quarterfinals. They began their journey in mid-July 2024, finishing in the top third of competitors in each of three regions – the Americas; Europe and Africa; and Asia, Australia, and Oceania – after five rounds of play! The finals pitted the remaining top third of the field in another five rounds.

Both Anna and Karen represented their countries at the in-person World Backgammon Federation Women's World Team Championship held in Stockholm, Sweden, in July of this year. The U.S. team captured first place, with the U.K. finishing a close second. The competition across the pond, along with the training for these women's in-person and online events, has helped fine-tune all of the players' games while forging friendships and networks of support.

Anna Price started playing in 1992 at a local club, where she met players who encouraged her to develop her game, including Martin Barkwill. She stopped after two years to raise a family but returned to the backgammon scene eight years ago and has won numerous trophies since then. Her most notable victories include being a member of the second-place U.K. women's team in Stockholm, Sweden; winning three Gold Mind Sports Olympiad medals; and winning the Harris and Hoole Cup in 2019 and the British Open Consolation in 2019.

Karen Davis lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is a BMAB Master Class 2 and a member of the American Backgammon Hall of Fame. She was captain of Team USA, which won the inaugural WBGF Women's Team Championship in Sweden in 2024. She served on the Board of the U.S. Backgammon Federation from 2009–2022 and was President from 2017–2020. She is also the co-founder of the Women's World of Backgammon. Her notable backgammon accomplishments include winning the USBGF Women's National Championship in 2022, winning the NY Metro Super Jackpot in 2019, and earning the #2 ranking in USBGF All-time Online Master Points.
